At the pace at which Skype development occurs, it seems logical that SkypeIn will evolve into a powerful tool for the Streaming Broadcaster looking to accept telephone calls while on the air.
A natural extension of SkypeIn would be to allow call queuing. That way, for a mere $374 a year, a Streaming Broadcaster could have ten phone lines available for callers to their program. Callers could be placed in a holding pattern while the host works down the list.
Another natural extension, and one that may currently be possible, is a SkypeIn conference call. This would allow a Streaming Broadcaster to have a featured guest on their program, and then accept SkypeIn calls from listeners who could also be patched-in to the Broadcast Audio. This could allow for very professional guest segments, and would also likely open the door to roundtable discussions.
